This policy explains what information Schewanick Computer Services, Inc. (“we”, “us”) collects when you use the Where Is My Package? courier dispatch and package tracking service at WhereIsMyPackage.net (the “Service”), why we collect it, and what we do with it.
The Service is business software used by courier and delivery companies. Three groups of people have information in it:
Much of the information in the Service is entered by our customers, the courier companies, rather than by us. For that information the courier company decides what is collected and why; we process it on their behalf and under their instructions.
| Category | Examples | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Account information | Name, employer, username, role, password (stored hashed) | Your employer, or you |
| Contact information | Mobile number, email address, business phone | Your employer, or you |
| Job information | Pickup and delivery addresses, contact names and phone numbers, package details, special instructions, references | Entered by the courier company or its customer |
| Driver activity | Job status updates, timestamps, proof of delivery, signatures, notes | Generated as work is performed |
| Location | Where a driver device reports it, used to plot and route jobs | Driver device, where enabled |
| Technical data | IP address, browser type, pages accessed, timestamps | Automatically, when you use the Service |
We do not sell personal information. We do not use the information in the Service to build advertising profiles or to market unrelated products to you.
The Service sends text messages to drivers and, where a courier company has enabled it, to shippers or recipients about a delivery. These are operational messages about work — job assignments, status changes and delivery notifications. They are not marketing.
No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile opt-in data and consent are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their own marketing. Information may be shared only with the service providers that deliver the messages on our behalf, and only for that purpose.
Text messaging is voluntary. A driver receives text messages only after personally signing a written consent form giving their own mobile number. The wording of that form is published in full in the Terms of Service. Signing is not a condition of working for a courier company, of being assigned jobs, of being paid, or of using the Service. A driver who declines to sign, or who later replies STOP, is dispatched by phone, radio or the mobile app instead. An employer cannot give this consent on a driver’s behalf. Where messages are sent to a shipper or recipient, the courier company is responsible for having obtained consent.
Message frequency varies and depends on how many jobs are assigned — a driver may receive several messages a day. Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier’s standard rates apply to every message you send or receive.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is not guaranteed and can be affected by your carrier, device, and coverage.
We share information only in these situations:
Job, delivery and proof-of-delivery records are retained for as long as the courier company’s account is active, and afterwards for as long as needed for billing, dispute resolution, and legal or tax requirements. Courier companies may set their own retention periods for their data. Account records are removed a reasonable period after an account closes, except where we must keep them.
Access to the Service requires a username and password, and access is limited by role. Traffic between your browser and the Service is encrypted in transit. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security; if you believe your credentials have been compromised, contact us immediately.
You may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information about you, or to stop certain processing. Because most information in the Service belongs to a courier company’s account, we will usually direct your request to that company, or act on their instructions. Contact your employer or the courier company first where you can; otherwise contact us and we will help route the request.
If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used and shared, to request deletion or correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will verify your identity before acting on a request.
The Service is business software and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above, and where the change is significant we will make reasonable efforts to notify affected customers. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
